Family Skills Training Program
When a loved one is suffering with a mental illness, those around him or her suffer, as well. The Center for Behavioral Medicine offers an intensive, skills-based program to help family members better understand their loved one's chronic mental illness and deal with the challenging behaviors that accompany it.
Format: Our Family Skills Training Program consists of two parts. The first part is a day-long workshop, and the second consists of eight two-hour sessions on a weeknight every other week.
Who Should Attend: We like to encourage more than one family member to attend together. Therefore, up to two adult relatives of the same family member can attend all sessions for one price! This may be a spouse/partner, significant other, parent, sibling, or adult child. Regular attendance is required by all registered participants at all sessions.
How to Enroll: Call our office at 262-782-2820 to obtain information and an application. An application can also be downloaded from this website, under the "Forms and Information" link. We offer this program when enough interested participants are enrolled, and we do limit class size, so be sure to reserve your spot.
The cost of the program is $700, and one or two adult family members can attend all sessions for this one price. This can be paid in 6 monthly payments of $125. We are not able to bill insurance for the Family Skills Program.
